Another method is to use a double pole/double throw switch and have two battery packs. One battery pack with low voltage to the MR board and another battery pack with higher voltage going to the buckpuck/resistor/led. Press the button and two different voltages are sent to two circuits isolated from each other. For the basic no sound lightsaber you will need a switch that must be pressed/flipped/moved to turn it on and pressed/flipped/moved again to turn it off. This can be a slider, toggle, push on/push off, or latching switch. You must consider the size, mounting hole requirements, voltage and amp rating and look of the switch.
We highly recommend you create an account and join the Saber Forum community before first attempting to make your own lightsaber. Hold the tube vertically in front of you and use a pair of scissors to create a horizontal cut across the top of the tube so that it's flat. Place this piece aside for later—you're going to need it for making buttons. Well, lay them all out on your work table like the picture above and measure out your wires. Remember that space is a premium inside these hilts and a little extra wire here and there tends to eat up all that space.
Choose Colors
Note that white, blue, and green take a higher forward voltage than red, yellow and amber. Now you have a sink tube that does not look like it should be connected to the bathroom sink anymore. You should have something that looks like a work of art, or at least a piece of machinery. For intricate areas of your design use the metal files to carefully take off metal. Sand the edges with course sand paper to remove burs .

I use an adhesive backed foil for the reflective disk with a small hole cut out the center. I then stick that to the bottom of the end cap and glue the end cap to the PC tube. You can also buy a small bag of assorted round mirrors at your local hobby shop. The only issue with using a glass mirror is that you are using a GLASS mirror inside your dueling blade. The end cap with reflective material does two things; give you a rounded end for your blade and reflect some of the light back down the blade to make it brighter. Are you ready to build a lightsaber on your next trip to Walt Disney World?
Make sure you book ahead to enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime experience. It’s certainly something you’ll remember forever and will go down as one of the highlights of your next visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. You can also find a lightsaber building opportunity at Once Upon a Toy in Disney Springs. The Star Wars experiences have been moving around a bit lately, so if you don’t see lightsaber parts there, a friendly Cast Member should be able to point you in the right direction. At $219.99 plus tax, it’ll certainly take a chunk out of your (or in my case, Mommy Frog’s) wallet.
Build Your Own Laser Lightsaber
The cylindrical hilt of Darth Vader’s lightsaber is 28 centimeters in length. It makes use of 2 kyber crystals and is powered by a Diatium power cell. The blade is variable in length which usually extends 0.91 meters, or 3 feet, in length. You can add some more customized features like flash on clash, swinging of the lightsaber, and an Ignition.
Create an 18 inch tube using your colored construction paper. Start rolling your 12 by 18 inch (30 cm × 46 cm) piece of colored construction paper at a slight angle to make one end wider. If you need to adjust the roll's tightness, grab the corner that's inside the tube and pull on it. Once you make a tube, use a piece of clear packing tape to secure the edges. Kalmsean missed the part about the FACT that the example lightsaber is partly made out of a chromed brass segment of pipe meant to be used under Bathroom Sinks.
Can I build a lightsaber at Disney Springs?
Ask your young Jedi--he/she may desire a different color such as sparkly pink or purple. Making a homemade light saber allows you to fully customize the toy to your child’s liking. You don’t want to spray the top of the flashlight with paint otherwise you won’t be able to “see the light force” when it’s turned on. If you've time on your hands, make a light saber hilt out of a paper towel tube and insert your flashlight/torch into it. In the Star Wars universe, the emitter is the section that produces the plasma blade we all know and love.
You’ll also find several types of battery charges to keep your lightsaber ready for action, as well as dummy cells that provide proper weighting without powering your electronics. The board requires a latching switch similar to the one used for the Basic lightsaber. Using this board to power the LED will limit your choices of high powered LED.
How about some extra stuff like fake electronics, a crystal, feedback motor, or accent LEDs? Once the design has been roughly cut out, switch to your sanding drum and grinding bits. SLOWLY and CAREFULLY grind away closer and closer to the drawing lines. Remember, you can always take a little more off, BUT if you cut or grind too much you can not put it back on.

This is not as expensive, but many a times it may require shipment and for that it may take a couple of weeks or even months. To protect the lighting strip, polycarbonate tubes can be used. Another option would be use a light bulb, but the only problem with this is that light diverges from it.
After creating your buttons, add glue to the back of them and stick them onto your handle. But yes, i have two lightsabers I am willing to sell, one red, one blue. They are a matched set - one etched Jedi, one etched Sith. With crystal chamber, sound, flash on clash, rechargeable Li-Ion.
